Saatchi Gallery's summer exhibition "Known Unknowns" focused on women figurative painters. It was an uneven selection of work in a very deep field. One of the highlights was Mona Osman whose figurative mashups reminded me of Adrian Ghenie making a hundred of quotations from past paintings. Nolde, Chagall, Beckman, Kirchner with a little Basquiat and Schutz. The paintings don't all work but there's something interesting going on none the less.
